Breathwork meditation for daily practice
Infused with a note of
Love and Deep Care
This breathwork session consists of a short introduction into breathwork and its workings in your physical and emotional body (until 3:22 Min). When reusing this audio recording, jump right to 3:22 and dive into the practice. It continues with 7 Min of active breath and finishes up with 7 Min of relaxation. This particular session is fueled with love and deep care.
On a physiological level, you arouse your nervous system by oxygenating it more than usual. In the process, you release endorphins, which make the experience enjoyable. At no point in the session will you have to hold your breath. It is, however, quite different from what you would do in a typical yogic breathing exercise. So it might leave you more energized than you might expect.
Using this breath, you access parts of your body that have been holding on to tension from living in a city, from your daily busyness or other stressful experiences of normal life. In this activated state, you are able to move some of that stuck energy and become more aware of the physical sensations in your body and the flow of energy within it. It’s a beautiful tool if you want to get out of your head and connect with the creative wisdom and intuition that lies beneath thoughts and worries.
As opposed to full sessions of 35 Min of Breath + 10 Min of relaxation, breathing for 7 Min may not access traumatic tissues in your body. So it is a gentle and sweet introduction to this powerful healing tool.
Tingles in your body, some light cramping, of your hands or mouth, or other sensations are not unusual when you practice breathwork. These are all completely normal. In fact, it often means that you are starting to move some energy in parts where things have been stored before. So trust the process, trust yourself, and go as deep as you are able to go. If something feels like too much, take a break and go back to it when it feels right.
If you have any concerns whether breathwork may be harmful for your condition, describe it to your doctor as stated above and get their advice. Though I found it to be a quite safe practice, being worried about breathwork while doing breathwork might be unnecessarily stressing you out. So don’t push it and be kind to yourself and listen to your own judgment.
